Jeremy S. Owoh is the superintendent of the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District in Jacksonville, Arkansas, and the president of the ISTE+ASCD Board of Directors. His 18-year career in education started as a high school English teacher, and he has served as a dean; assistant principal; principal; assistant superintendent of curriculum, instruction, and desegregation; and assistant commissioner of educator effectiveness and licensure. Owoh holds a bachelor’s degree in English education from the University of Central Arkansas at Conway; and a master’s degree in secondary education, educational specialist degree in educational administration, and doctorate of education in educational administration and supervision from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Zaretta Hammond is the author of ­Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain: ­Promoting Authentic Engagement and Rigor Among ­Culturally and Linguistically Diverse ­Students (Corwin, 2014), an influential book that explores the cognitive foundations of culturally responsive teaching, and and Rebuilding Students’ Learning Power: Teaching for Instructional Equity and Cognitive Justice (Corwin, in press). A former high school and college writing instructor, Hammond has also been a teacher-educator specializing in the foundations of literacy. She is currently a trainer and consultant working with schools on instructional design, equity, and literacy.

Liz Kolb is a clinical professor at the University of Michigan School of Education where she works with preservice and in-service teachers on integrating technology into K-12 teaching. She is a former middle and high school teacher and is the author of numerous books and articles related to educational technology, most recently Learning First, Technology Second: In Practice, published by ISTE.
